Dr. Robert L. True graduated with honors from Pocatello High School in Pocatello, Idaho. He received a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree with honors from Idaho State University. After working as a full time Registered Pharmacist for three years he entered medical school in 1976, receiving his Medicine Degree from the University of Nevada Medical School in Reno Nevada, graduating with honors.
After medical school, Dr. True completed his internship at one of the most reputable programs in the nation, Charity Hospital in New Orleans Louisiana, affiliated with Tulane University Medical School. During this time, he rotated through several different specialties of medicine and general surgery, giving him an extremely well balanced and diversified experience and training.
After internship, he practiced emergency medicine full time in Louisiana hospitals for two years. During this time, he continued to acquire skills in general medicine, trauma and emergency medical conditions.
Subsequently, he returned to New Orleans to complete his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology again at Charity Hospital under the acclaimed Tulane division. During his residency, he acquired extensive training in surgical techniques and had the luxury of training with many of today’s pre-eminent gynecologic surgeons from Nevada to Louisiana. During his last year in residency, Dr. True was given the prestigious honor by his professors and fellow resident colleagues of serving as chief resident of the OB-GYN department of Charity Hospital of New Orleans.
Dr. True has always been interested in expanding his surgical skills and this passion expanded to include cosmetic procedures. Therefore, during his last year of residency, he attended cosmetic surgery training in traditional liposuction body contouring surgery through programs sponsored by the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgeons. He has continued to support this organization’s ideals as a patient advocate organization.
After completion of his residency in 1986, Dr. True started his practice in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Arlington, Texas and incorporated liposuction and body contouring into his practice at that time. He was the first gynecologist to do liposuction in the area. Later he received further training in the advanced technique of tumescent liposuction and was one of the first physicians in Texas to incorporate Tumescent Liposuction and SmartLipo Laser Liposculpture into his practice. He received further training and experience in cosmetic breast surgery, abdominoplasty and fat grafting. After moving his practice to Colleyville, TX, has continued to expand his expertise in breast and body procedures to provide further cosmetic surgery options for his patients. Over the years, he has acquired the training and experience for facial rejuvenation techniques through multiple cosmetic organizations.
Dr. True futhered his training to improve the health and beauty of patients both inside and out. Therefore, he became board certified by the American Board of Anti Aging and Regenerative Medicine. He was the mastermind for the development of the HCG True Diet and the Hormone Vitality Plus programs. These help people lose weight and maintain hormonal balance, which improves their body health, and in turn this improves their appearance too.
Because of his extensive experience in liposuction techniques, he now is one of a few select cosmetic surgeons who teaches these techniques to physicians from around the world. His accredited course is sponsored by the National Society of Cosmetic Physicians. He is also a preceptor of Tumescent Liposuction, SmartLipo, and Body Jet to help train physicians in these techniques.
Dr. True is one of a very few physicians trained in the technique of Awake Breast Augmentation. He specializes in cosmetic surgery of the breast and body, and offers Bikini Tummy Tucks for patients, also performed using this Awake technique that has less potential complications and faster recovery.
