How Long is the Recover from a Labiaplasty?
After labiaplasty surgery, women may experience some mild discomfort and swelling, which usually disappears completely after 1-2 weeks. Most women can resume normal activities within a few days, and work with 3 to 5 days. Labial incisions usually heal and are rarely noticeable.

What are the Risks from Labiaplasty Surgery?
There are few potential complications or risks from labiaplasty surgery. The most common can include bleeding, infection, asymmetry, and scarring. Although these events are usually infrequent, they sometimes can occur. Further discussion of these can be done during your consultation for your procedure.

Does Labiaplasty cause painful sex?
After labiaplasty surgery, there is not a problem with pain produced during intercourse. Most women actually have an increased sensation with intercourse, especially when clitoral hood reduction is produced. The minimal amount of scar tissue that occurs from the procedure does not cause problems with sex.

Why is there a Controversy for this Procedure?
Some claim that labiaplasty is unnecessary. However, there are many people who have emotional problems, pain or medical issues associated with elongated labia. People who state such claims must be ignoring those people who have these problems. Thus they don’t understand what these other women are experiencing everyday and the self esteem issues they suffer.

Can Labiaplasty Interfere with Childbirth?
There is no medical evidence that suggests that procedures such as Labiaplasty and Vaginoplasty can interfere with childbirth at a later age. Any scar tissue that forms does not appear to cause problems for there is currently NO medical documentation to confirm that this is a problem.
