It’s a fact of life that the skin begins to get dull with age. The inevitable wrinkles and fine lines around the eyes begin to set in, small scars from acne or other issues show up, and the skin’s pigmentation can become uneven revealing age spots. What is a good solution to all of these issues that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg and doesn’t involve a painful procedure with a lot of recovery time? The answer is simple: microdermabrasion.
Microdermabrasion is totally non-invasive and completely renews the appearance of your skin by stimulating new cell and collagen production and cleaning the pores. The result is better skin texture and overall appearance.
What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a painless way to polish the skin. A skin exfoliator is used to loosen the dead skin cells that are on the surface at the same time that a hydrating fluid is sprayed on to the skin to rinse away the dead skin. This leaves behind shiny, smooth, deeply hydrated skin. The process encourages the regeneration of collagen and deep skin tissue and permeates the skin with the medicated moisturizing fluid. This makes the skin look and feel younger and reduces the appearance of sun damage, age spots, and fine lines and wrinkles.
What Does A Microdermabrasion Treatment Entail?
The treatments take less than an hour. The skin is thoroughly cleaned and the pressure of the microdermabrasion machine is adjusted to each patient’s particular needs. The hand piece is then moved along the area to be treated and the fluid is delivered onto the surface of the skin. The dead skin is suctioned away. There is no recovery time and normal activities can be resumed right away.
The skin may be red for up to 24 hours after the treatment but after one session the skin will already look fresh and glowing. A minimum of six treatments is recommended in order to get the ultimate results. The treatments should be a week to ten days apart. With each treatment the skin will improve and visible results can often be seen after the third treatment.
