Dr. Robert True’s Beginnings
Dr. Robert L. True graduated with honors from Pocatello High School in Pocatello, Idaho. While growing up, his parents taught him a good work ethic, personal responsibility, independence, honor, love of other people, constructive attitude, and a drive to achieve the best from his skills and abilities. His father was a meat cutter who was diligent on working every day. His mother was an elementary school teacher who taught him to learn everything that he could about any interest that he might have, which are many. She also instilled in him a drive to always do something constructive with his time. Thus, he is always busy doing something, whether it is seeing patients, going to school to further his training, reading books or writing articles. There’s always something one can do to further themselves, learn more to be able to help others more.
Graduated from Pharmacy School
He received a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree with honors from Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho. Subsequently he worked as a full time Registered Pharmacist for several pharmacies for several years. These included chain store pharmacies and hospital pharmacies.
Graduated from Medical School
In 1976, Dr. True entered medical school at the University of Nevada Medical School in Reno Nevada. After four years of medical school training, he received his Medical Doctorate Degree, graduating with honors. His interests were OB-GYN, general medicine, and surgery.
Internship at Charity Hospital, New Orleans
After medical school, Dr. True completed his internship at one of the most reputable programs in the nation, Charity Hospital in New Orleans Louisiana, affiliated with Tulane University Medical School. During this time, he rotated through several different specialties of medicine and general surgery, giving him an extremely well balanced and diversified experience and training.
Emergency Medicine Experience
After internship, he practiced emergency medicine full time in Louisiana and Mississippi hospitals for two years, then part time for another three years. During this time, he continued to acquire skills in general medicine, trauma and emergency medical conditions. This included infectious diseases, cardiorespiratory diseases, gastrointestinal diseases, and general medical knowledge. Moreover, his ability to suture wounds was markedly enhanced through this experience.
Residency at Tulane Medical University hospitals
Subsequently, he returned to New Orleans to complete his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology again at Charity Hospital under the acclaimed Tulane division. During his residency, he acquired extensive training in surgical techniques and had the luxury of training with many of today’s pre-eminent gynecologic surgeons from Nevada to Louisiana.
Cosmetic Surgery with AACS and other organizations
Dr. True has always been interested in expanding his surgical skills and this passion expanded to include cosmetic procedures. Therefore, during his last year of residency, he attended cosmetic surgery training in traditional liposuction body contouring surgery through programs sponsored by the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgeons. He has continued to support this organization’s ideals as a patient advocate organization.
Clinical practice in Arlington, TX: OB, GYN, Liposuction
After completion of his residency in 1986, Dr. True started his practice in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Arlington, Texas and incorporated liposuction and body contouring into his practice at that time. He was the first gynecologist to do liposuction in the area. Later he received further training in the advanced technique of tumescent liposuction and was one of the first physicians in Texas to incorporate Tumescent Liposuction and SmartLipo Laser Liposculpture into his practice.
Cosmetic breast surgery, liposuction, abdominoplasty, facial rejuvenation
He received further training and experience in cosmetic breast surgery, abdominoplasty and fat grafting while establishing his office practice in Colleyville, TX. Dr. True has continued to expand his expertise in breast and body procedures to provide further cosmetic surgery options for his patients. Over the years, he has acquired the training and experience for facial rejuvenation techniques through multiple cosmetic organizations.
Anti-Aging training with A4M
Dr. True furthered his training to improve the health and beauty of patients both inside and out. Therefore, he has been trained by multiple organizations including the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M). He was the mastermind for the development of the HCG True Diet and the Hormone Vitality Plus programs. These help people lose weight and maintain hormonal balance, which improves their body health, and in turn this improves their appearance too.
Faculty member for AACP, NSOCP, AAOCG
Because of his extensive experience in liposuction techniques, he was chosen to be one of a few select cosmetic surgeons who teach these techniques to physicians from around the world. His accredited course is sponsored by the American Academy of Cosmetic Physicians. He is also a preceptor for Tumescent Liposuction, SmartLipo, and Body Jet to help train physicians in these techniques
Teacher for Liposuction, Breast Aug, Abdominoplasty
Dr. True is one of a very few physicians trained in the technique of Awake Breast Augmentation. He specializes in cosmetic surgery of the breast and body, and offers Bikini Tummy Tucks for patients, also performed using this Awake technique that has less potential complications and faster recovery.
