What Is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a unique and powerful procedure that uses a special piece of technology known as the MicroPen to rejuvenate the skin. The MicroPen contains a cluster of incredibly fine needles that produce very small punctures when passed over the skin. These micro-injuries stimulate the production of collagen in the skin.
Collagen is an essential component for strong and healthy skin. Collagen adds volume to the skin and improves its tone, which will help to eliminate the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The tiny wounds created by the microneedling treatment also eliminate any damaged or dead skin on the surface of the face.
In addition, microneedling has been shown to improve actinic keratosis, a condition on the skin caused by the aging process and sun damage (1). It also can smooth the skin and has been very effective in treating acne scars (2).
Correcting sun damage, stimulating collagen production, and smoothing the skin are all concepts of creating a more youthful appearance of your skin (3).
